Today we are going to show you how to make a quilted placemat using fat quarters! I shared this tutorial awhile back over at The Polka Dot Chair but today, since it is the first day of spring, and the weather in my neighborhood is still gloomy, I wanted to share something that felt like spring...and these placemats made out of our Just Add Sugar Fabric are just the trick. So, let's get started! All you need to make each placemat is: *2 Fat Quarters (I used coordinating prints so the ... View the Post
Stitched Episode 11: Forever in Blue Jeans
I love Neil Diamond and I love Blue Jeans...and shortly after we started Stitched my brother asked when we were going to doing one about jean quilts so I could talk about Neil and my levis. Well, Jake, today is the day! I really love this episode and had so much fun researching the history of Levis, indygo, and of course talking about Neil. I hope you like it. Today I make my own split pea soup...often. Usually I make a large batch and then freeze it in individual containers to heat up later for my lunches. But sometimes I share. When I do I serve it with grated cheese, crumbled bacon, and crusty bread....and it is ... View the Post
Homemade Lip Balm Recipe
I am working with the 11-13 girls in our Young Women group at church this year and I am always on the hunt for fun and simple things that the girls would enjoy. We did a "what do you want to learn to do" activity at the beginning of the year and brainstormed a whole bunch of things the girls wanted to learn and crafting, cooking and sports (including rock climbing!) were all high on their lists. So, I have been finding and tweaking some fun craft and cooking lesson ideas for the girls to do ... View the Post
