What are Pinking Shears and History of Pinking Shears: What are pinking shears and when and where were they invented? At the end of every upcoming episode of Stitched we have a segment called "I've got a Notion" that explores how some of our favorite notions came into being. This segment came from Episode 11 of Season 1 called "Forever in Blue Jeans" where we talk about jean quilts, indigo, and of course Neil Diamond. You can listen to the full episode HERE. Modern Log Cabin Baby Quilt
Baby quilts are some of my most favorite things to make! They don't use up a ton of fabric, are a quick sew and I love that I can quilt them at home as well. This Modern Log Cabin Baby Quilt is a new take on a traditional Log Cabin Quilt Block that uses up another one of my favorite things---scraps! And is has a fun new look to a traditional quilt block. It's a win win, in my book. I made this version with some scraps of our fabric line "Azure Skies" with some other basics and scraps ... View the Post
Breakfast Bacon, Egg, and Spinach Salad
A breakfast bacon, egg, and spinach salad? Yes! A breakfast bacon, egg, and spinach salad. Admittedly I am not a breakfast eater. Never have been. While my family loves pancakes, waffles, cereal, bacon, sausage, corned beef hash, muffins, syrup, etc. I'd rather just get to work and then at lunch time have something I really like...like a soup or nachos or...a salad. A few Saturday's ago however while my husband and the kids were in the middle of the breakfast making extravaganza I ... View the Post
Meet Modern Farmhouse Fabrics
Modern Farmhouse Fabrics are here...and we couldn't be more excited! Pencil Skirt Pattern for Knits and Stretch Velvet
This pencil skirt pattern for knits and stretch velvet was one of the first patterns we ever released. I loved that pattern and made myself a million skirts using it. Then last spring I cut out a 3 more...but didn't get around to sewing them up. Fast forward to last fall when I found some more fabric that would be perfect for 2 more of these skirts...and got them cut....but then one thing led to another and they ended up on the "to-sew" shelf with the other 3. It was a sad ... View the Post
Around the Block Quilt Pattern
Today we are releasing a pattern that I absolutely love! It is called the "Around the Block Quilt" and it is one of my favorite things to make out of a fat quarter bundle. The Around the Block Quilt Pattern is made for beginners to advanced quilters and uses fat quarters so it makes it a cinch to sew up! A perfect pattern for making large quilts that will be cherished for years. The finished quilt size is approximately 74”x 74” inches and is a larger sized lap or cuddling quilt. ... View the Post
