Over the next couple of days Liz and I will be posting things that we have made for Swiss Days 2010. We are so excited, and while it is always a couple of crazy days, it really is fun for us. That's why we do it!And because we both LOVE, LOVE, LOVE a good deal we will both have several items that will be under $5.00 up at Swiss Days (which for those of you that have been there-- really is unheard of). Here are a few of the assortments of headbands that will be available for $3.50 each....There ... The Poncho Prototype!!!
Alright, so a few months back I posted about my wasting hours of time and miles of fabric working up a cape, poncho, Little Red Riding Hood type article of clothing. It didn't work until now....With the help of Liz and my mom I finally worked out a pattern I can use. Hooray!!! I am in love with these little capes! Unfortunately, Grace was not. (This was the best photo I could get of her in it this morning and she had already undone the top button. Oh well, you get the idea.)They are cute ... View the Post
$5 Friday…Another Bridal Shower Gift
I am soon to be getting an excellent sister-in-law and I was invited to a shower for her a few nights ago. Now, while she is admittedly worth far more than $5, portions of her gift from me were only $5. (Don't worry, Stacy already knows we're poor and that I make almost all the gifts I give.)The first thing I bought Stacy was a vintage cook book for $2 at a thrift store (can't remember which one---it was before they even got engaged). I really am into old books with any housekeeping or cooking ... View the Post
A Fun Project Finished
Today I mailed off the second half of a fun project to the ladies over at Smitten Furnishings on Etsy. (Check them out. Their shop is DARLING! It is full of awesome furniture and super cool artwork made from vintage buttons....my favorite piece is the white butterfly, made with white buttons on a white background in a beautiful white frame. It is so clean and so feminine. I totally love it.)A while ago they approached me about making some cuffs. 100 of them to be exact. Then they sent me the ... View the Post
Getting In Touch With My Inner Lucy
Recently, I've been pining over the 50's. That era seems so innocent and the pace of life slower and ever so desirable. Products made during that generation were quality and built to last. And the house wives...Wow! They literally turned housekeeping into an art form. Their dedication to quality took the occupation of home maker to a whole different level. One that I'd like to rise to. (Oh, how I wish to be as awesome as they were. I really do.) Now before I go on I better state that if there ... View the Post
My crafting space…
I think Liz and I were on the same wave-length today--although I am sharing my crafting space. I am loving on a new baby right now, but I have gotten quite a few questions about where I craft. I am not lucky enough to have my own craft room (maybe someday?) and since I sew almost daily, I needed to find a place that could be permanent but out of the way--the kitchen table just wasn't cutting it anymore. So, for all of you in my same situation....here's what I did. I looked on ksl.com (a ... View the Post
