Awhile ago a ran across this little gem at a thrift store. Loving all things vintage (and kitchy) I bought it without question. That afternoon I unloaded my finds and added this piece of work onto one of my bookshelves and promptly forgot about it. There it sat, for months, until one night I couldn't sleep and was perusing my book shelves for a good read. And what a good read it was. The Beginning of Autumn
This afternoon I spent my time doing something that marks, for me, the beginning of autumn. I put up my first batch of tomatoes. This batch I blanched and then froze---a much easier process than canning. The process:#1. Put tomatoes in boiling water for about 2 minutes (or until they look ready---they look ready when their skin starts to pull and they float on the surface)#2. The next big project at my house will be decorating my soon to be 6 year old's bedroom.
