And so begins week 2 of Facet No.4.Let's see what advice Ms. Hoole has for me this morning."We as homemakers, set the standards for orderliness in our homes...Children are only an excuse, not a reason, for a cluttered house.""Perhaps it does require a second's more time to be neat and orderly initially, but ultimately considerable time is saved by not having to hunt for a pencil, the mate to a shoe, or the other stocking."This week I will be working on order...not organized order, just order. ... $5 Friday…I can’t take the credit…
Simon made this bug mask at a recent birthday party. He loves it. This is him wearing it while watching Superman. The birthday party he attended was hosted by a super cute, super crafty mom who gave the kids these plastic masks and a pile of supplies and let them get busy. Obviously it was a huge success. (A far greater success than Simon's party a week earlier where my husband dressed up like an alien and scared the crap out of all his little guests....)Anyways...the love of the bug mask has ... Pictures of these will be coming soon!-z ... View the Post
Facet No.4 A Place for Everything—Everything in its Place
There is no progress report from the last two weeks of my homemaking experiment. We've already firmly established that I am an "almoster". So, with that in mind let's move on with some more encouraging advice from Ms. Hoole:"No one wants to be just an Almoster. Let's continue our analysis by suggesting the qualities and characteristics which make an ideal homemaker."So, turning the page I am now on to: Faucet No. 4 "A PLACE FOR EVERYTHING---EVERYTHING IN ITS PLACE". I should do well at this ... View the Post
$5 Friday– Halloween Procrastination Style
As usual I procrastinated part of our family's costumes this year. So, late last night I finally made our little bubba's costume.....but totally different than what I was planning. Our family is being Harry Potter characters this year with big brother as Harry, little sister as Hermione and our new baby as Hedwig the owl. We bought the other costumes but I couldn't find a baby owl costume that was small enough. So, I set out to make one. I originally bought a white Carter's snowsuit that I ... View the Post
