I bought this vintage fabric ages ago. Then I found this vintage pattern. And when I put them both together Gracie ended up with a brand new vintage tunic...which I love. Unfortunately she was not in the photo taking mood on the afternoon she first wore it...more like the look anywhere and everywhere except at the camera mood...fortunately the back of the tunic looks an awful lot like the front of the tunic so, you pretty much get the idea. And either way it reminds me of my childhood and ... View the Post
Spring Fever: Clam Diggers
Can I just tell you upfront about the happy dance I did when finding this truck? Isn't is awesome? And how when I asked the owner to take a picture in front of it, he said he normally shoos people away but since I asked he totally said yes. Score for asking. I have clam diggers on the brain. I had quite a few pairs when I was little and I loved the fact that both my mom and grandma called them clam diggers. (Ok, at the time I probably told them they were weird....but now it is such an ... View the Post
An Orange Go-Go Dress
Recently my mom has been collecting vintage patterns and as I was looking through her pile I came across a 1965 pattern for this little dress and fell in love. A go-go dress is perfect for my little Grace! And when I saw this orange fabric in my fabric bin I knew it would be a match made in sewing heaven. A Circle Skirt…..WITH POCKETS! (And a tutorial for the pockets)

Hannie had pillowcase dresses, pinafores, and circle skirts in every shade of the rainbow and every print available. And then I kind of started to branch out..... So, when a couple of weeks ago I found a cute 1950's pattern with a darling circle skirt and a (insert swoon here) ... View the Post
$5 Friday…The Napkin Skirt
Last week I was at a thrift store with Elizabeth when I found a set of 4 olive green vintage napkins for half off their $2.99 price tag. I instantly knew what I wanted to do with them and between that idea, their coolness, and the price, I just couldn't pass them up. The very next day I made Grace this skirt. I used two of the napkins. I cut the lace off of the two sides and sewed them together making the tube. Then I cut off the top fourth of the napkin to make it the right length. And ... View the Post
A Bit O’ Green (last-minute style)
I realized last night that 2 kids of mine had no green shirts. How could this be? So, if you have realized this too....there is still time. Here is the girlie version. What you need: Shirt from Walmart- $3.oo White felt shamrock from the scrap bin- free Some embroidery floss in gold-free I was kind of going for the Laverne and Shirley "L" look.
