We have a guest post on Thursday....that is really exciting, so stay-tuned. But I wanted to show you my thrifting stuff today because I found some A.MAZ.ING stuff. So let's just pretend it's Thursday today, k? I found all this fabulousness at an estate sale. I was (not.at.all. joking) like a kid in a candy store...and my mom just sat and held Isaac for a super long time while I just kept making piles at the cash lady's feet--I think my poor mom was trying to pretend she had no idea who that ... Mustache Monday
Remember these? Well, Stacy (my sister-in-law baker extraordinaire) got some new molds and stopped by Friday afternoon with some new stashes for my crew to try out. Obviously they were a hit. (I spent 99% of my picture taking time asking Gracie to quit licking hers for just a minute and asking Simon to look at me instead of trying to look like a "bad guy" and scaring Grace.) They were just so tempting... And fun... And delightfully messy... That they couldn't help but be ... View the Post
The Art of Homemaking—Childhood Traditions
"A tradition-or moment to remember-need not be spectacular in order to be impressive." I have these images in my mind from the summer carnivals I went to as I was growing up.I remember the excitement as the carnival would pull into town and start setting up.I remember the lights, the sounds, and the rides. When I was young it all seemed so magical. Especially after dark.Last weekend we took my kids to the same carnival I attended in my youth. It was crowded, rickety, and filled with hormonal ... $5 Friday–Fabric Scrap Bracelets
In case you missed this post on She Wears Flowers a couple of weeks ago... Liz and I have been going fabric scrap crazy for the last little while. Liz made this darling dress and this darling shirt out of scraps that were cut and made into binding. And here is one more scrap fabric project that I have had floating around in my brain....Fabric Scrap Bracelets. The idea is not mine, I got it from this genius tutorial....which I saw a long time ago and loved. The neckace looks like Wilma ... View the Post
Thrifted Thursday: Buyer Beware!!!
Monday I stopped off at one of my favorite thrift stores. We'd had a long day and an even longer weekend. My kids and I were all tired and grumpy but it was on our way home and I was hoping some fun finds would cheer me up.Wrong.The store was super crowded which meant I had to drag my complaining family a million miles across a million degree parking lot. Once inside I loaded Gracie into the cart and Simon chose to ride hanging onto the front because he was "too tired' to walk.As we worked our ... View the Post
A Baby Gift.
Baby Bonnet and skirt. I went to a baby shower a couple of weeks ago and made a quick skirt and ruffly bonnet for the sweet baby girl that is coming. I had seen quite a few tutorials--last summer--for cute baby bonnets and had somehow remembered that they were a rectangle with a casing on the back. (How I remembered that and not the dentist appts today..I'll never know?) HERE is a good tutorial if you are making one, although the sizing is a bit bigger. I used a 9 x 14 inch rectangle (that's ... View the Post
