Project Run and Play– “Girls of a Feather Dresses”
This week's challenge was to do a pattern remix of Lil Blue Boo's Sienna Dress. And here is what we made....The inspiration for these "Girls of a Feather" dresses was a late-night phone collaboration that went something like this:"What are we going to do to make the pattern different?""Let's do something more formal....because the pattern is pretty casual""I think we should do all white dresses....I love white on little girls""White........WITH FEATHERS!" Thrifted Thursday—A new skirt with a pirate belt?
Over the summer I found about 3 yards of this wierd, blue, stretchy, textured fabric (that smelled like moth balls) at a local thrift store. So I bought it for $2, brought it home, and washed it twice. Then last month I made Grace a back to school skirt with a small piece of it. I did add some modifications which I will tell you about. Dress Modifications: 1. Make the bodice neckline higher. I did do the darts and fitted it several times ... View the Post

Rushmore....He is our history buff and since it was only adding another day and a half to our trip....we thought "let's do it."The day we were there was GORGEOUS...not too hot or too cold and the sky was clear and blue. We went early in the morning (which I would recommend...by 11 am it ... View the Post
A Clown Treat
Did you ever have these clown cones at Baskin Robbins when you were little? They were definately a special treat in our family...but I loved when we got them. So, for the August birthday celebration, I decided that is was time to add some icecream cone clowns to our family celebration. If you want to make some, here's how I did mine. Using your icecream scoop, drop rounded icecream scoops into cupcake liners and stick a cone on top. Refreeze. Then frost with star tip. I used this ... View the Post
