*This Audrey Cape tutorial is for personal use only. Please contact us to buy a limited-use permit.* In case you missed this on Project Run and Play a few weeks ago. The "Audrey Capes Tutorial." These capes are one of the girls' favorite things that we have yet made. I am not kidding when I say that this cape comes out everyday....and I won't let it be worn to school yet (it's still in the mid 80's here---and apparently I am a mean mom) so someone is waiting for the day that it will ... $5 Friday…DIY Girls Knit Cardigan Vest
Recently I posted a tutorial on how to make a knit cardigan vest for only $1. But the day I made that vest I realized that it would work just as well for little girls as it would for adults. (And maybe even better.) So I made some for Grace but instead of adding a belt like I did on mine I gave her a giant sash (which can be made from long strip of fabric cut from an over sized t-shirt). Grace loved the sash--she loves all things pink--plus a sash equals pirates in her mind and she is still in ... View the Post
Thrifted Thursday–A Vintage Book Pumpkin Tutorial
In case you missed this a couple of weeks ago on Miss Lovie's Halloween event.... In our house right now we are redoing our office space, and I got some new bookshelves for my birthday (yes, I asked for bookshelves and a dress form for my birthday---so it's ok). By the way, I am still rearranging those ... View the Post

But where as our time and budget are both limited this is what I came up with... ...a "new" wreath (made from an old wreath and some flowers I bought at the Dollar Store) and a new coat of paint for the front door. (The door had been white but I literally mixed up a whole bunch of left over paints in the garage to have enough to paint the door a new color which looks like this and miraculously matches the rest of our house.)Then ... A Fall Skirt
I originally bought these two fabrics to make a tote bag out of. But, as I was looking at my pile of fabrics...I thought how cute they would look together as a skirt. And since it is Elsie Marley's sew kids' clothes week, a skirt it became. In a naptime. Day 1---done. Whew! (I am hoping I can do the whole week--I'll let you know.) I made this skirt the same way that I made the Vintage Dishtowel Skirt. The tutorial is HERE. The only difference is that instead of the vintage ... View the Post
