I really try to stay ahead in blogging world...so most of the projects you see this week are really from last week. But not this week. I am so behind.I have been taking my time meticulously (because I am afraid I am going to make a dumb mistake) drafting, cutting and sewing a blouse for my pattern drafting class. I am using this gorgeous silk-cotton voile blend (I didn't even know such a glorious fabric existed) that I bought at Tissu Fabrics. And meticulous is the key word this ... View the Post
Thrifted Thursday—Scarf Skirts and Sailor Shirts
Last spring I made Grace a lot of these skirts but I never posted anything about them. They are made out of scarfs from the thrift store...which makes them about $1.50 each. Grace wore this one today (I can't believe it still fits!) along with a sailor shirt that I picked up at the thrift store for $2.00. Add that to the $3.50 I spent on her Wal-Mart leggings and that brings her outfit to a grand total of $7.00. (And that is a price I can afford!) I need to go and look for some more of ... Kids’ Crafting- Spring Pom Pom Garland

Craft Stick Puppets—Perfect for Something On a Stick Day
Did you know that tomorrow is "Something On A Stick Day"? Well, it is. And I'm not making it up either....Like all those other times that I mentioned here. So in honor of this special day we made these little people for a post dinner performance: We actually made a couple of sets. These guys are for Simon. But we made some for Gracie as well. (As you can probably guess she picked some princesses but then she also wanted a Little Red Riding Hood set.) Painting these puppets was a ... View the Post

*We shared this tutorial last month on Riley Blake's blog and are sharing it with all of you today....you should go check out all the design team's projects---there is such talent there!*Also, please ignore the fact that there is no step #6....I am just crazy (or tired) sometimes ;)One reason that Liz and I started our blog was to show everyone that if we could sew, then basically anyone could. We sometimes feel like we are living out Gusteau's line from the movie Ratatouille, when he said, ... View the Post
