This post was originally posted for Elegance and Elephants "Knock off" series, but we are bringing it home today. My only regret when I made these is that I didn't buy ten packs of those cool disco-like styrofoam balls. I would love to use them a million other ways..... I am totally in love with anything Olive Juice clothing does and this darling pom pom necklace is no exception. Simple, childlike but still so darling on an outfit. source I also figured out that it would also be ... View the Post
The Love is in the Air Skirt (with Printable Template)
Every year I make Grace a skirt for Valentines Day. (Remember last year I made her the All You Need is Love Skirt and then later I made her the Love Me Two Times Skirt.) Well, this year I wanted to combine the felt from the first skirt with the cotton skirt of the second one and I came up with this: The Love is in the Air Skirt. It is a simple elastic waistband skirt made of cotton fabric with felt pieces that I held in place with fabric glue and then embroidered around with a running ... View the Post
The Art of Homemaking: Putting the House to Bed
A few months back when Elizabeth and I were able listen to Daryl Hoole speak we took pages and pages of notes. (She just had so many great things to say!) Okay the sleeves will probably be a bit short, but other than that it would totally fit him. And it was cut out in the size 3.Lesson learned. Next time ... View the Post
Thrifted Thursday: The World’s Easiest Skirt Refashion with a Completely Unnecessary Tutorial
Awhile ago I was cleaning out some old clothing bins of mine (a never ending project it seems) when I ran across one that included a bunch of old skirts that I wore the first year or two I taught school. They were long, frumpy, and totally from the turn of the century...back when I was partying like it was 1999. They ALL looked like this: Anyone else remember these beauties or am I just waaaay older than all of you are? (Wait, don't answer that.) I'll just pretend you remember these ... View the Post

It is our Wednesday at Riley Blake Designs and today we are showing you how to make this easy three-tiered skirt. I have been seeing these types of skirts showing up in lots of high-end children's clothing lines and for lots of money.
