Happy St. Patrick's Day! Back when I taught junior high I would give each of my students a shamrock note on St. Patrick's day.  And on that note it would say why I was lucky to have them for a student. How to Hand Bind Your Quilt

I have been handbinding a lot of quilts lately, some for upcoming projects (that we can't wait to tell you about) and some for quilts that I have made in trying to use up my stash and scrap piles this year.  This quilt that is pictured above I actually finished last fall and finally got it bound last weekend.  And I love it.  I used an assortment of blues, tans and coral colors throughout the quilt and I really love the color combinations.  It's one of my favorites to date. ... Using Flannel in Clothing

My girls love flannel.  A lot. They have flannel blankets, flannel sheets, and flannel pajamas.  In fact Ruth (my 3 year old) even has her own little trunk full of flannel...pink cuts of flannel fabric pieces.
