Last year I wrote a post called "20 Gifts that Cost Nothing To Make But Might Just Be Priceless" And gift #6 on that list is what I called "The What Do You Know Notebook". All it is is a simple spiral bound notebook filled with questions you would like the answers to. I gave my grandpa one of these books (along with one of his favorite fountain pens). Some of the questions I hand wrote inside his book were: "Tell me about your first trip to Disneyland" "What was your worst job?" ... View the Post

On the Go Bags Book Review

So, recently when we were given the opportunity to review a fun new handmade book called On-the-Go ... View the Post

I have it hanging in our family work room. And I believe it...stories are like magic. They can teach lessons, change moods, preserve histories, and help us see things from a different perspective. My husband says if given the choice to buy food or books I'd choose books every time. (And he is right! Books last ... View the Post
Courthouse Steps (Quilt Block of the Month)

This is a great block for those just beginning to try their hand at patchwork and is still and enjoyable block to create for even the most experienced of quilters. The Courthouse Steps Block is actually a version of the Log Cabin Block which enjoyed its rise to fame in the United States during the civil war and has been a staple in the world of quilting ever since. Like the Log Cabin the Courthouse Steps block is built around ... View the Post
