I am still doing skirts. Are you sick if them yet? (Sorry if you are....) I have this one and one more on the way and then I am switching to Easter outfits for the fam.... but I am pretty excited about this one. I love to take simple shapes or concepts and make them into something new....it's my favorite thing to to. So, for this skirt I combined the rolled roses that have been so popular with a skirt....and here's what I got. "The Painting the Roses Skirt." Here's how you make ... View the Post
Shamrock Headband or Wrist Cuff
Grace is fickle. She loves her accessories but only certain ones at certain times and since I'm not sure what her mood will be on St. Patrick's Day I made this accessory a 2-for-1 deal. It's a headband or wrist cuff made from felt, grosgrain, and hot glue. Here's what you'll need: 1 felt circle (for the base) with grosgrain ribbon attached to each side. 4 medium sized hearts 4 small hearts 1 fat heart 1 button or bobble to finish it off Here's how to do it: #1. $5 Friday…Project #2 with white Kona cotton.
So, another great thing about Kona cotton is that it dyes well....so I've heard.....and so I wanted to try it. Again, I wish I were getting paid in fabric....but no, it's just a personal opinion. Project #2 is a lace skirt tutorial. Two skirts actually. I found some awesome vintage lace at the thrift store for $2.99 that I wanted to make into a lace skirt that was inspired by this even more awesome dress (she is what I hope to be someday). Again, I just made a simple skirt, layered the ... View the Post
3 things to do with some white Kona cotton….Project 1.
I love kona cotton. I really do. The quality is great and always washes up so much nicer than other broadcloth. (I do use cheaper broadcloth...trust me...but I do love Kona cotton--it has a much better thread count than most broadcloth but is still so soft.) Lots of quilters use it for that reason.....but I love it for clothing. It is the best. And I have quite a bit of white at the moment....so I am intent on making some things with it. Hence, stick around for some more things with white ... View the Post
