I always write my Art of Homemaking Posts on Friday nights after everyone has fallen asleep in the family room (remember, our insane weekly camp outs?). I like writing then. Everyone is snuggled around me, I'm happy, the house is quiet...it's the perfect time to think about my home and family. But last night Simon and I stayed up way too late watching a million episodes of "Natures Deadliest" on Netflix. (He loves any show about dangerous animals or natural disasters and we've just about run ... View the Post
Due to Spider Attacks the Art of Homemaking Post is Being Rescheduled! (And some other stuff…)
So I've spent the last few days mulling over the life expectancy of van dwelling spiders and decided that without a food source my mini monster wouldn't be with us much longer.Wrong.Yesterday I'm stopped at a light when I see a black spot on the corner of my sunglasses. When my eyes focus on the speck I realize it's the spider! ON MY SUNGLASSES!! ON MY FACE!!!! So being the rational person I am I rip off my sunglasses and throw them against the front window, sending the spider flying off who ... View the Post
Thrifted Thursday–A Vintage Circus Blanket

Here's the thing...I tried to make a schedule I really did....but...it didn't work.In college I had a professor who chewed me out for being too much of a "free spirit"...and I was, and am...it's hard for me to stick to a schedule because if I think of an idea I usually go and do it...right then...no matter what else is going on. For instance while I'm sewing I might decide that now is a great time to help Gracie make a butterfly painting I just thought of or while I'm sweeping I remember that ... View the Post

So over the weekend Elizabeth and I made some real progress. As you may or may not know we are chronic recluses. We love to be home...with our kids...in our pajamas....sewing...which lends itself nicely to blogging right? Right. Now, where was I? Oh...reclusivity...it's our little secret.Or maybe it's not so secret. As we found out this weekend our, shall we say, "problem" preceeds us.Let me explain. This weekend we attended:(Which wasn't held in our homes...and that we didn't wear our ...
