Vintage Pattern + Organic Cotton Sateen = A Winning Combo
I have had this vintage 1976 McCall's pattern for years now. It keeps floating around between my to be cut pile and my stash but earlier this week the pattern met the fabric and it was true love! The fabric I used was organic navy cotton sateen from Organic Cotton Plus. I've used their fabrics before and I love them...they are always so soft and wonderful to work with and this cotton sateen was no exception...it is like butter! Seriously, butter. Which is why I ended up making the long ... View the Post
Books for My Grandparents….Because I wanted them to know…
I am a lucky girl. A very lucky girl. I was basically raised with two sets of parents...my parents and my grandparents... I've always been close to my grandparents...and for that I feel most fortunate...there has never been an important event that they have missed in my entire life...ever...everything from proms to graduations to hospital stays to birthdays...they have always been there. (Like I said, I am one lucky girl.) I talk to them everyday...how many people get that chance? Not ... View the Post
Birthday Cake Quilt Block
Today we get to share in a Birthday party with our friend Amber of Crazy Little Projects. So, I started with one block. And now I think I am ... View the Post
Polka Dots & Pinafore
I don't share Ruth very often... I don't really know why...but I'm selfish with her. Maybe because getting her here was harder...and our recovery was a long time in the making...and because the two of us went through it together I feel extra protective of her... I don't know, but what ever the reason she only appears on the blog about as often as I do. However, I should share her more often...to me, that girl is a living doll...a chubby, fiery, feisty doll...and I am loving making things ... View the Post
Satin and Tulle Skirt Tutorial
With St.Patrick's Day coming up I thought I'd share a quick tutorial for making little girls golden tulle skirts. (But isn't green the color of the day you say...well...not if you are Grace...she's convinced that you wear both colors...and the gold is to help you find the leprechauns who love gold....) ANYWAY...Here is the post: We shared it a few months back over at Sewing in No Man's Land... Hello! Sewing in No Man's Land Readers! We are so excited to be over here today sharing a ...
