I have a girlie who has outgrown much of her summer wardrobe. We actually went shopping a few weeks ago to find some staples, as in shorts and a few shirts, but came home mostly empty-handed....because either the waists fit and they were too shorty-mc-shorty or the length fit but she cant keep them up. Soooo....I guess that means I need to get busy and sew up a few things for summer. This dress I actually sewed up a couple of months ago, and found again when unpacking summer things. So, we ... Behind the Blog: Hatching New Ideas…..
It's time for another installment of "Behind the Blog". Because we are celebrating our 4th blogging birthday we've been thinking a lot about who we are, where we've been, and "growing up". In fact, Elizabeth and I have had a lot of late night meetings this month and have done a lot of thinking, and planning, and talking. We love what we do. We love being moms. We love being homemakers. We love sewing. We love crafting. We love decorating. And we love sharing all of those things with all ... View the Post
A Pop of Color…A Sneak Peek…and A Confession
*This post is sponsored by Wayfair. We were compensated for this post, but all opinions, like always are our own. Recently we were asked if we would like to participate in a "Pop of Color" campaign....to which we said YES!!!! (A thousand times yes!) And I didn't even have to think for a second about what I wanted to do.... Here's the confession. We have NEVER bought anything new for ourselves for our bedroom...15 years of marriage and we still live like college students. I'm not kidding. ... View the Post
A Simple Stretch Denim Dress
Today I get to share a simple stretch denim dress. I got to make it as a part of the Shaffer Sister's "sew-a-bration of Womanhood" series. It's a month long series in May that encourages women to take the time to sew for themselves. (You should head over there and check it out....so many great ladies and lovely projects.) The project I chose to make for myself is actually the exact same pattern I sewed for myself for the Ugly Duckly Pattern Challenge we held last month. But this ... View the Post
Quilt Block Pocket Tutorial
Today I have a Quilt Block Pocket Tutorial to share with you. I posted it awhile back over at the Moda Bake Shop but today I'm brining it home. (I love this idea and have been making quilt block pockets like a crazy person ever since posting it!) ***** If you are anything like me after you finish a quilt you end up with a few orphaned quilt blocks...and then you don't have the heart to throw them out...so you keep them...and they wait for another chance to shine. Well, recently I found ... View the Post
Saturday Sewing at Simple Simon Linky Party
Four years ago this month Elizabeth and I decided to try an experiment. We decided that every week day for a month we would try to post a different project on my Simple Simon and Company blog (something used mainly for craft fairs) and see what would happen. At the time we weren't even sure if we could come up with projects for 20 whole days but we wanted to try. So thus it began....and after 4 years not only haven't we run out of projects but we can't stop thinking of more!!! (Really...like ... View the Post
