Hey! Today we are excited to be a part of the JoAnn #DIY4Halloween campaign because we finally get to share a project that we have been waiting to share for weeks! The worlds easiest capes (ok maybe not the world's easiest but still...they are pretty darn easy to make) that can be turned into practically any costume. Like a fruit stand: The idea originally came from these capes that we made several years ago. (And that we've made and remade a hundred times since.) They fit so cute and ... View the Post
Jack Skellington Ornament Tutorial
I know that the Nightmare Before Christmas isn't everyone's favorite thing.... But I love it. I don't know if it's the story or the animation or my inner Goth speaking but I just love it....really...I even have a Jack Skellington wallet in my purse...and a sticker on my mini van. Am I too old for such things? Yes. But does that stop me? Apparently not. Which brings me to this year's Halloween decorations: Last week end Grace and I made a pile of these and hung them in the tree next ... View the Post

Easy Holiday Ear Warmers

I thought that they would make some great last-minute holiday gifts for some girls on our list so I grabbed quite a few sets. I then ran over to grab some wool felt and pompoms and I knew we had all the supplies for a perfect afternoon of crafting. And then Hannie saw them and thought that they would make perfect gifts for her friends. So, last week, we spent some time after ... View the Post
Polar Fleece Scarf Tutorial
I love Thanksgiving. Every year, no matter our circumstances, I appreciate the time to reflect on all that I have to be thankful for. And the more I reflect the more thankful I become and the more thankful I become the more I feel the need to do something for others. So every year I find a project that my family and I can do together and donate. This year I chose scarves. Scarves were actually the first project that I had my family do way back when I started this Thanksgiving tradition ... View the Post
Christmas Postcards Tutorial
A few weeks ago I decided that I wanted to send something "handmade" to a group of our online friends for Christmas....but I couldn't think of what I could possibly hand make that would be personal. Then it dawned on me...some handmade postcards! I could cut them out, sprinkle them with some sewing, and hand write a personal message on them. It was perfect! (Sure it's not a pieced quilt but still...) So the other night I got to work and in less than 30 minutes they were all made and ... View the Post
