Today I get to start sharing Gracie's Spring Look Book. I really should start with my inspiration post but I'm too excited so I'm going to just jump right in and share my inspiration later...maybe on Wednesday. This is the first look that I made for Grace. We just registered her for kindergarten so there has been a lot of talk about school next year---including what "school girls" wear which is where the idea for this look came from. (She doesn't have to wear a uniform but still thinks ... View the Post
The Love Bunny: Pattern and Instructions
Today we are over at the Moda Bake Shop sharing how to make Gracie's Love Bunny Skirt. (She's wearing it in this photo although you can't see it very well. But, you can head over THERE to check it out.) And while we are over there sharing the skirt we are over here sharing the pattern and instructions on how to make her matching love bunny doll. To make this love bunny you'll need to print out the pattern which you can find HERE. Once you have that printed cut out 2 of the bodies ... View the Post
With Heartfelt Gratitude I’d like to Thank The Red Solo Cup
Last week was our spring break and I was so excited. I literally counted down the days until it came and meanwhile had made a list of activities and projects to do during those long anticipated days that I'd have all the kids home together. I seriously couldn't wait. And we started off great---taking Simon and Grace to Holi Fest and later that evening to an Easter Egg Hunt at my parents house. But as we played in the yard that night we noticed that something was wrong with Ruth and by the ... View the Post
Under the Kitchen Countertop Magnet Board
People have asked what my husband does while I'm sewing. Well, this should answer that question. He makes things...lots of things.Crazy things...all around the house...all of the time.He loves to build and measure and use power tools. Our entire garage has been turned into his personal workshop. Some people might think that would be annoying...but...I'm sitting here in the family room that houses my sewing machine and a shelf full of both sewing and art supplies so you won't hear me ... A Zipper Pocket Tutorial.
Last week I made a travel tote that can sit in the car with snacks and supplies mostly because when I run out the house I literally forget everything. So I decided to make a bag---keep it in the car---and then it will be there when I need it. (Well, that is the plan......I feel like I am so forgetful sometimes as a mom....I don't know at what number child it happend but I really feel like I lost half my brain cells.) By the way, this tote is huge....like carry 5 beach towels and all the ... View the Post
Something to Do with your Boy on an Idle Afternoon
The other day Simon, Grace, and I found ourselves with a sleeping Ruth and an entire afternoon without plans. (Something that recently never seems to happen.) As we talked about what we should do with our time Simon wanted to show me a book he had checked out of the library. It was called "Draw Dinosaurs". I hadn't seen a book like this for years! Growing up my grandpa bought me loads of these kinds of books---how to draw cartoons, horses, fruit, 1950's costumes, whatever...and I LOVED ... View the Post
