Today we are talking about Shoe Jewelry so you can decorate your KEDS! Keds seem to be all the rage this summer and my girls have jumped on the bandwagon. Which is fine by me...I grew up wearing Keds and love that they are making a come back! Grace and I actually made these "shoelace bracelets" a few weeks ago. We had a rare afternoon to ourselves and we went shoe jewelry crazy! ... View the Post
DIY Giant Wooden Dominoes (A Homemade Christmas Gift Success Story)
My husband and I always make our children at least one homemade gift each year for Christmas. Sometimes they are a hit and sometimes they are a miss. Luckily last year our idea was a hit. A BIG one! A family set of over sized Dominoes! My husband cut the set out of pine planks from Home Depot and each domino is roughly 3 and 1/2 inches by 5 inches. (Which has been a perfect size!) Then he used a saw to cut the middle notch. (Being careful not to cut through the domino.) And ... View the Post
$5 Friday: Summer Cloud Paintings
Hello. Sooooooo today is $5 Friday and I do have a project to share. However, it's not the project I intended. Clothes Pin People
When Elizabeth and I were making our Princess and the Pea projects I ran to the craft store to look for some felted wool balls...which I had never before purchased and had no idea where to find them. So while I was wandering from aisle to aisle I ran across packages of old fashioned wooden clothes pins and decided to buy a pack. Later that night Grace and I turned them into clothes pin people. We each painted our own. I started off with two casual girls for summer. And I finished with 3 ... View the Post
DIY PVC Pipe Princess Dress Rack—A How To
Ok...I know! PVC Pipes and Princess Dresses...it's a weird project...really weird. But I don't care. And my girls are crazy about it so it's what I'm sharing today. Here's the story: Awhile back Deborah from over at Sew Much To Give posted some hangers that she had made for her granddaughters princess dresses. Then she hung those princess dresses on a low bar so the girls had easy access to the dresses. It was brilliant. And I wanted to do the same thing However, I didn't have a great area ... Fun in the Sun for Kiki and Company
Last month Kiki and Company invited us over to play in her Fun in the Sun Series. This was the project that I shared. It was fun for summer but I think we'll keep these little people going with our reading throughout the school year! ***When Kiki told us about her Fun in the Sun series I knew exactly what I was going to do. (In fact, it is something that I've been planning since I made these random craft stick puppets.) I only wish it was later in the summer so I'd have more to share with ... View the Post
