Recently, I've been pining over the 50's. That era seems so innocent and the pace of life slower and ever so desirable. Products made during that generation were quality and built to last. And the house wives...Wow! They literally turned housekeeping into an art form. Their dedication to quality took the occupation of home maker to a whole different level. One that I'd like to rise to. (Oh, how I wish to be as awesome as they were. I really do.) Now before I go on I better state that if there ... View the Post
The Project that Started it All
A friend asked me for a photo of this wall so I decided to post it for her on the blog with a description of what it is.This is the project that started it all for me...The wall in my entry way. I had some photos to hang but didn't like the arrangement. I talked over the framing in of the photos with my husband and one night when I had returned home from my night class ViolA! there it was just like I had imagined it! (Thanks again Jon.)So just like that we started making things---everything from ... View the Post
Time to Buy an Iron
Apparently it's time for me to buy an iron. (Or at least use one.) I just looked at the blog and really looked at the photo I posted of me wearing the flower pin. My shirt looks like trash! And, yes, that's really what I wore today.I should not be allowed out in public. ... View the Post
Slowing Down
We just returned from spending some time up at Island Park. (A beautiful area up in the Targee National Forest just outside of Yellowstone National Park.)It seemed a fairly inopportune time to go...a cabin trip sandwiched in between the marathon, family weddings, the art show, and country fair that we just completed but right before art camps, the start of the school year (when I start teaching preschool again), and the slew of upcoming boutiques, and more weddings. How could I possibly take ... View the Post
My Newest Acquisition
My grandma called me a few weeks ago and asked me if I would be interested in her old sewing machine. Interested? How soon can I pick it up? My grandpa bought this post WWII gem for my grandma soon after they were married. It makes me smile just to think about all the things my grandma (a quilting wizard) whipped up on this baby. I don't know what I love the most about this machine. The history of my grandma who learned to sew from her mother and the projects made on this machine or the ... View the Post
Thank You For Letting Me Continue to Have Fun
*This morning I've been sorting through and boxing up "leftovers" from the Oh Sweet Sadie show. It was a quick process due to the fact there wasn't much left! So, thank you every one who supported us at the show. We really appreciate it.*I'm always a little nervous before a show. Like Elizabeth said in the earlier post, we are "small potatoes". We make stuff that we have fun creating but when the time comes I wonder if others will enjoy it as much as we do. Needless to say, I was more than ... View the Post
