I like paper patterns. I know that lots of people make their own, but to tell the truth, I have not had much luck with tracing existing clothing.....I find that along the way I am making weird and crazy adjustments that I could have avoided in the first place. So, I use mostly paper patterns....and for the most part...I hardly make any adjustments. They are tested and usually very well-done and I just love them. Don't get me wrong, I still pull a bodice from here and a skirt from here and a ... View the Post
Merry Christmas!
My kids are in bed and asleep, my husband is out in the garage finishing up a few Christmas gifts, and I have a pile of tape and wrapping paper with my name on it in front of the TV. Tonight will be bliss---all is right in the world. My current homemaking challenge is to "meet the minute". Which I have this week. My husband usually works 6 days a week and I usually run a preschool and art classes however....this week everything has been canceled. We have all been home together. It has been ... View the Post
Thanks for the Great Weekend!
I just wanted to post a quick thank you for everyone who helped us have such a successful weekend. This afternoon I noticed that my favorite summer flowers have lost their spark. I love these little ladies! We live in an area where NOTHING will grow so planting and maintaining our yard had been a challenge until we accepted the fact that yes, we do live in a desert and have begun to plant accordingly. Before I buy any plants now I ask myself..."Would I see that in Frontier Land?" and if the answer is yes then I buy it. But this post isn't about my gardening woes...As I said I love these ... Swiss Days 2010
It's late in coming but...Thank you so much for all the support at Swiss Days this year! As our booth was located across the street from the square, instead of in the square, we were anxious about sales. (Oh, how I hated the thought of driving home with bins and bins full of scripture bags and fabric cuffs.) Fortunately, however, we had a record year with more sales than ever! What a pleasant surprise! So thank you to everyone who found us. We really appreciate it.We really do.*PS---With my mind ... View the Post
Blog Silence
Sorry about the blog silence.......it wasn't intended...To make a long story short our debit card number was stolen and our account drained. Before we even knew what had happened our account was "frozen". Our Internet provider, after putting our automatic online payment through several times and having it not paid, turned off our service. No Internet, no blog, no posting. After some headaches, phone calls to bill collectors, and police reports we are now back on line and back to normal. Whew!...I ... View the Post
