Last month I was sitting in a meeting when the lady across the table said that it might sound crazy but that I remind her of Charlotte from Charlotte's Web. I told her it didn't sound crazy but was one of the kindest compliments that I could have received. Especially on that particular day. Later, as I was leaving the meeting she asked what the necklace that I always wear around my neck says. Funny you should ask I said....it says Araneae...which is the scientific name for spiders. ... A Penny Saved
Recently we started a new 365 Days of Saving Program at our house to save up for a family vacation. However, since the term "saving" often comes with the connotation of "going without" or "giving up what you want" we started this program with a different mindset...a mindset based on the old adage of "A penny saved is a penny earned"...because earning something feels more motivational than giving something up, right? Here is how it works: Each pay day we budget out our money...the house ... View the Post
The Art of Homemaking: On Choosing a Home
So over the past few weeks my husband and I have been agonizing over homes. And I mean agonizing. The Art of Homemaking: It isn’t always about YOU (or me)

Which I did. Her response was nothing more than eye contact, a blank stare, and her going out of her way to back up her shopping cart and drive it around me. What the heck? I had gone out of my way to talk with her and she totally snubbed me! And from that day on I put her on the ick ... View the Post
The Art of Homemaking: 8 Things Motherhood Has Taught Me.
With Mother's Day coming up I was kind of reminiscing this week at how fast my kids are growing up and how much they are changing every day....and then I started thinking about things I have learned through being a mother. My writing isn't spectacular but these lessons have been super important to me. ... View the Post
