I was raised by women who took great pride in their domestic prowess. My mother could put together a spread of enough homemade food to feed an army in less than an hour and all of it would look, taste, and smell delicious. My grandmother could crochet beautiful and complicated afghans while carrying on lengthy conversations and loose her stitch count. And my great grandmother, she was a quilter. Her name was Elizabeth and even though she is my namesake I have spent most of my life content ... View the Post
Why Do You Sew? Elizabeth’s Story…
Whenever liZ and I go anywhere to teach a class we always begin with a little introduction of who we are and why we sew. And while those stories are really extreme opposites, I still love the fact that sewing and creating is an underlying theme. And since most of us will never meet in person (but I hope we do!) we thought we would share our sewing stories with you...and the reasons why we feel so passionate about sewing. ... View the Post
How to Make Freezer Meals (An Art of Homemaking Post)

But usually the "help" of an 8 and a 4 year old is actually just more work for me. So I tend to brush them off...and give them jobs like: Make sure everyone's shoes are put away or put a fork by everyone's plate for dinner. However, if you follow us over on Facebook you've heard about the home we bought and the renovation projects ... View the Post
