A few weeks ago I typed up and posted some questions that I was asking my 4th and 1st graders after school....it was something that was on my mind and I decided to share it....I thought maybe someone else might want to try a few of them to...I didn't realize it would get such a large response... ...I guess we all want to find ways to keep lines of communication with our children open... I know the questions aren't perfect. I realize that you need to gauge when the right time to talk to your ... View the Post
The Art of Homemaking….stick to it!
I think my art of homemaking post is more for me today than anyone else....but I will share it just in case. Yesterday, I learned to hang wall paper. Luckily I had the sense to hire someone who had done it before---because normally I am just the "jump in there and figure it out kind of person." But somehow I knew I'd spent good money on wallpaper---and I didn't want to mess it up. ... View the Post
And Then He Turned 10 (An Art of Homemaking Post)
My oldest (Simon) turns 10 this week. A decade has gone by in the blink of an eye. And I don't want to blink again because when I open my eyes another decade will have passed and my baby boy will have become a man. Our children are only children for such a short amount of time....it very much makes my heart ache to think about it...how will I ever let them grow up? As Simon's birthday approached this year my husband and I did a lot of talking. We really wanted to make his birthday ... View the Post
My Family is My Strength…

The Art of Homemaking: “I know what’s on your list!”
Last week I was under a huge deadline....and kept myself on strict "lists and plans in my brain" to get everything done. It is not usually so stressful around here, but it was a particularly busy and crazy week. ... View the Post
The Art of Homemaking….on liking what you do.
Today's art of homemaking is all about me needing a reminder. I have been caught up in my cleaning the house duties...and being a bit of a whiner. So, here's my throwback post to mostly myself ;) When I was a young mom (and still somedays) I felt very unproductive. I felt like all I did all day long was clean faces, clean bums, clean clothes, clean kitchens and try to take a shower once in awhile throughout the process. And after awhile I started loathing the everyday work of ... View the Post
