Laundry is the thing that never ends. Ever. Even when I am "all caught up" on laundry I'm really not because the clothes that I am wearing right then will still need to be washed. It's a vicious cycle and at any time you could drop by my house and find a pile mountain of laundry on my couch waiting to be folded. But awhile back my mom had an idea that has helped in my battle against laundry: Individualized Storage Bins One afternoon she arrived at my house with some ... View the Post
The Art of Homemaking: Homemade White Bread Recipe
On Monday I promised you my homemade white bread recipe and today I am delivering good on my promise. I really love this bread recipe because it turns out every time and is easy enough to still make for dinner if I start it by 4 pm. From start to finish it is about 1 1/2 hours and makes the house smell delicious. And the best part about it.....I can make the kids eat leftovers (or soup!) if there is a loaf or two of fresh bread to go with it ;) A mom's dream... Homemade White Bread ... View the Post
The Art of Homemaking: “We Don’t Ever Relax”

It might make a new woman of you.... ...If you do nothing but prop your feet up in a chair and stare at the ... View the Post
The Art of Homemaking: 3 School Lunch Solutions for Picky Eaters
3 School Lunch Solutions for Picky Eaters At both of our homes, we have some picky eaters...some really picky eaters...which can make meal times a challenge. Especially lunch...when they are away at school and we aren't with them to make sure they are getting enough to eat to fuel them for the rest of the day. Which is why each of our children take "home lunches". However, each of our children are picky in different ways and so all of their lunches look different (even though many of the ... View the Post
How Long is Forever? (An Art of Homemaking Post)
Eleven days ago I was sitting at the computer answering emails and texting my brothers sarcastic comments about the recent legislative session. But mostly texting my brothers because we were so funny we just couldn't stop. Until my sister sent us all a text that said, "We have bad news..." And the seconds, hours, and days following that message have seemed to have gone on forever. ... View the Post
My Small Sewing Space
Today I get to share with you my small sewing space. I would be lying if I said I didn't want a spacious sewing studio with a pool table sized cutting tables, grand windows, beautiful hardwood floors, and walls lined with shelves full of expensive fabric. BUT...even though that would be crazy awesome and I would love it...I can't complain. I have carved out for myself a small sewing nook that I use everyday and LOVE (a lot) even if it won't ever be on the cover of a magazine. ... View the Post
