Challenge for the week:

I have given myself a challenge for this week....to finish what I have started.  Because you see, I have a bin sitting on my sewing table of projects that are incomplete.  And.  IT.  IS.  DRIVING.  ME. Thrifted Thursday…With Blue Satin Sashes

Yesterday Liz shared her darling Easter Dress (I am in serious love), and I am sharing Hannie's today (which is kind of old news around these parts---I went with simple).Her dress is made from a cotton-linen blend of fabric that was thrifted (a whole roll of 10 yards of lovely fabric for $5----I am thinking it was originally meant for drapery lining).  The dress is made from The Vintage Holiday Dress Tutorial.  I forgot to put her crinoline under it for the picture---so you'll have to picture it ... Gracie’s Chocolate Chicken Easter Dress

So this is Gracie's Easter dress. In my mind it seemed like a normal choice for Easter....the baby chick yellow with the white and the chocolate bunny brown...but seeing everyone else's pink and pastel dresses I understand that I'm crazy...again. Oh well.  I like it.  Sure it's a little vintage cigarette girlish but I like it. Plus it was kind of an exciting project for me to work on. Ruffled Peplum Skirt. A Tutorial.

I have been dreaming about this skirt for a couple of months now.  It is part of my thought process of "what to make for tweens" and better yet, it is also one of those incredibly easy skirts that I adore to make. What has consumed my life this week…

I really try to stay ahead in blogging world...so most of the projects you see this week are really from last week.  But not this week.  I am so behind.I have been taking my time meticulously (because I am afraid I am going to make a dumb mistake) drafting, cutting and sewing a blouse for my pattern drafting class.  I am using this gorgeous silk-cotton voile blend (I didn't even know such a glorious fabric existed) that I bought at Tissu Fabrics.  And meticulous is the key word this ...
