Sunday dinners are important to our family. I remember them with fondness from my childhood. Going to grandma's house after church for a yummy Sunday dinner (even though it was really lunch) and then playing at her house while most of the adults took naps on the couch. They were mostly made up of the same meal, a roast, a potato dish and veggies with some sort of simple dessert. My grandma herself was a self proclaimed "simple cook" so she used lots of store bought things. But those meals were ... View the Post
Copycat Chic Fil A Nugget Recipe
As a family we have been trying some knock recipes lately and this copycat Chic fil a nugget recipe is a keeper. The nuggets are tender and juicy and delicious! We paired it with some actual Chic fil a sauce we had leftover and some waffle fries baked from the freezer section, and dinner was a big hit that night. If you would like to make some too, here's the recipe we used (we combined three different knock offs to get this one and I promise it's the best!) The one thing I will say is that I ... Mickey Beignet Recipe to make at home!
One of our favorite Disney traditions as a family is to wait until it gets dark and a bit cooler in the park, and then head over to New Orleans square to get a large bag of Mickey Beignets to eat as a family. In the winter we love to get some hot chocolate and sit at the little cafe tables, and in the summer we love to eat them while we are in line to ride Pirates of the Caribbean in the dark. I don't know why but I love waiting for that ride at night--it has such a fun Disney ambiance. And ... View the Post
Sopa de Pollo Recipe
Sopa de Pollo Recipe! I travel with my family several times a year to Southern Utah. We love the scenery, the hikes, the outlooks, the weather...and a little Peruvian restaurant called Viva Chicken. We will get something from Viva Chicken at least once a day while staying in St. George. It's the best. I love their chicha morada and salads while my kids love their rotisserie chicken....but we all love their Sopa de Pollo (their chicken soup). We were supposed to be leaving this ... View the Post
Simple Crepe Recipe
One thing that we love to make on a Saturday or a Sunday morning for brunch is crepes. But they are also good for desserts or even savory meals. This is the basic recipe I use but I will share some helpful tips and tricks that I have learned for making them work every single time. Simple Crepe Recipe 2 eggs1 1/2 cups of milk1 cup of all-purpose flour2 Tablespoons of sugar1 Tablespoon of vegetable oil (For savory crepes you can omit the sugar and add 1/2 teaspoon of salt.) Mix ... View the Post
31 Meals from your Pantry or Freezer
I am sure I am like the rest of you when I started earlier this week to think about how we will eat for the next couple of weeks. So, I meticulously went through my pantry and freezer and made a list of what we could eat for the next two weeks if we don't have access to a grocery story. Then, I did online shopping order (for things like laundry soap and dish soap) and other household goods and one large grocery store trip. I don't know if I am fully prepared but I am prepared as I can ... View the Post
