With the end of the winter dull drums upon us I've got the crafting bug something fierce. And while I wish it was inspiring me to whip up something wonderful it is expressing itself through silly projects like the Penguin Encounter. All you need are old bottles and socks, some googlie eyes, Styrofoam balls, and some black spray paint and instantly you've got penguins hanging out on your porch.I actually saw this in Disney's Family Fun magazine and my 5 year old and I have had so much fun trying ... I Need Little Red’s Tailor
AuGHHHhhhh!!!Who ever Little Red had to make her capes must have been something else! I've been working and reworking these dumb capes and the only thing I'm getting is frustrated.I wanted to make up some cute capes for spring boutiques but they have been fraught with problems. For instance, because they are for such tiny girls when you add the weigh of the hood onto to back it nearly strangles them to wear it!BUT then if you take off the hood (aside from being not as cute) the little collar I ... Gracie’s New Pants
Recently I made Gracie 5 new pair of pants to wear during the holidays. This morning I attempted to take her picture wearing one of them. After 30 minutes of chasing her through the yard, snow, and mud these are the best photos I got.I'll take some more pictures of the pants later. Without Grace wearing them and after I Spray and Wash all the mud out of these ones... ... View the Post
New and Improved Scripture Bags
I've recently changed my scripture bag pattern. I made my first pattern so that the scriptures would fit snugly inside. However, I had complaints that it was too snug. So I've revamped the pattern giving scripture sets a more comfortable fit. ... View the Post
My Second Attempt
Last night after I made the turtle my 5 year old decided he needed a stuffed creation as well. So I fired up the machine and made a simple version of some dolls I saw recently on a really cool Chinese crafting blog. Simon (my son) loves him. He named him "Cockroach" and proclaimed that he is the "guardian protector" who will keep him "safe from kidnappers" while he sleeps.Again, my 3-D skills are lacking and Cockroach needs to be de-clipped but all in all I'm counting this attempt as a success. ... My First Attempt
Yesterday I got an invitation to my niece's 1st birthday party. In an effort to make her something different I decided to not only try my hand at making a 3-D creation but to make it up on my own---no pattern. What was I thinking?!?I used terry cloth and felt. It was loads of fun making it but I'm not sure about the outcome. Maybe after I rid the poor turtle of all her clippings...Anyway, for what it's worth here it is...my first attempt at 3-D sewing projects. Terrie the Turtle. ... View the Post
