We moved into our house six years ago this last Thanksgiving and about a week ago I realized that it was now time for a little update.....that was mostly my fault in the first place. You see, when we moved in I got so excited to decorate that I just started painting tan simply because that's what everyone else was doing too. (I know, I know...)So, when we ended up buying tan couches, tanish rugs and tanish curtains everything ended up way too tan and dark (is it weird that tan looked dark in ... View the Post
From This to This
So as I was saying...I cleared out my 6 year old's room. We got rid of the toy chest and moved in a shelf with plastic containers. It's so much better. (These are all the toys we kept...everything you see is everything we've got....heavenly isn't it?)I also went a little over board and went through the closet and chest of drawers. Then I moved on to the walls. Everything (including curtains) have been removed. Then we let him choose a color of paint (football field green) and painted the walls. ... View the Post
A Thanksgiving Project.
I have seen these "Give Thanks" frames all over bloggyland, so I don't know who to give credit to, but this one is my cheapy version. I bought a poster frame at Walmart for $9.97 (there are two sizes--mine is the bigger size) and then used spray adhesive to attach white burlap to the back cardboard of the frame. My neighbor does vinyl (thanks Corina) so I had her do the "give thanks"--look carefully at the top--in Chopin Script (a favorite and free font) backwards so it's on the back of the ... View the Post
Peggie’s Done Different
Here's another horrible photo from my notoriously bad camera....It's of my new favorite project...peg dolls on canvass. Ok, so they aren't really peg dolls but little girls, made of fabric, and shaped like my peg dolls. I'm in love. This is a photo of the army of them drying on my kitchen counter tops last night. Tonight they are sleeping over at the Oh Sweet Sadie location out in Daybreak waiting for the show to open tomorrow. I miss them already. -z ... View the Post
Bandaids galore
Liz and I are getting ready for TWO (count 'em) craft shows this weekend which we have never done (or at least I haven't) and so I am sewing like crazy and hurting myself like crazy too.....I lost skin on one finger from an incident with a murderously hot glue gun, peeled the skin off another finger by pulling elastic through 20 casings (be forewarned it can happen) and then just now, putting a needle into my finger. Thank heavens it didn't go all the way through but there's quite a bit of ... View the Post
New and Improved Flower Fabric Cuffs
Here's my latest fling in my ongoing love affair with wrist cuffs. I love the flowers, the feathers, the stretchy bands. And I really enjoy making them. I can't get enough of watching a strip of ripped fabric materialize into a flower.I'm such a nerd.Like a home ec. nerd that I used to make fun of...Ok, I better go now before I have to beat myself up.-z ...
