I made these little fabric filled frames awhile back from a fat quarter of Amy Butler fabric I had been hoarding. I really love this print and wanted to use it in a way that I could enjoy it for a long time. So I spray painted some dollar store frames and filled them with pieces of the fabric, a little bit of doilie and some wooden birds. And soon they will be hanging down here in the basement family room where they will match all the crazy colored furniture and help to liven up the boring ... View the Post
A Ruffled Scarf Tutorial
Today I have for you a fifteen minute scarf that you will love. And I PROMISE you...it really will take 15 minutes. Stephen and I were out to dinner a couple of weeks ago, and browsed through a cute boutique next to the restaurant. And while I was ohhing and ahhing over the super-cute-but-ridiculously-expensive-clothes I saw the cutest muslin cotton scarf....that cost $48 dollars. So, voila. Here is the EXACT. SAME. SCARF. for $2.78. (It really is exactly). I really should have saved ... View the Post
$5 Friday–Back to School Teacher Tote and some news…..
I made these totes for the kid's teachers this year...and I will let you in on a little secret.....they only cost me a dollar. And decided they would be great teacher totes. They are the perfect size ... View the Post

A White Shirt Dress…
I found this Land's End junior's shirt on my last thrifting trip for $2. I loved the Peter Pan collar (I am kind of a sucker for anything with a peter pan collar) and decided it would be a good school dress for the newest First Grader around this house.I thought when I first bought it that I would have to take in the sides...but it worked perfectly as a bigger shirt dress. All I really did to it was add some belt loops for a ribbon belt, and chop off the sleeves and put in an elastic casing. We ... View the Post
Elephants on Parade
A few weeks ago I had two baby events the same weekend. One was for a girl... ...and one was for a boy.So while I was spending time "taking it easy" on the couch I cut out some fuzzy flannel elephants and stitched them onto onesies and burp cloths to take to the gatherings. I think I may make some of these for Ruth as well. Although, everything I've gotten her recently has been covered in pink and gray elephants...hum...I wonder what other animals I could make... ...
