Thrifted Thursday: Another Way to Use Vintage Trims

Yesterday I worked on some new shirts for Grace. The poor girl doesn't really have any clothes that fit so I bought her some plain T-shirts ($3.88 at Wal-Mart) and have been busy gussying them up. As almost everyone knows, I save everything...and that includes trim and ribbon scraps. In the basement lurks a bin holding random scraps of yarns, ribbons, and trims just waiting for the day when they might come in useful. Vintage Halloween Canvas

Today I have a Vintage Halloween Canvas project to share with all of you, that costs less than $5.   And it's not even Friday yet!  Even better.The inspiration for this project came from Sarah's blog that I pinned a while back.  Who knew you could print on tissue paper and it takes the texture of canvas?  Amazing.  You can find the tutorial HERE.I got my canvas at Hobby Lobby when they were on sale a couple of weeks ago.  The 8x10 canvas turned out to cost $1.75 on sale and then I spent $1 on a ... Thrifted Thursday–A Vintage Book Pumpkin Tutorial

In case you missed this a couple of weeks ago on Miss Lovie's Halloween event.... And then my husband jumped on the bandwagon…

Recently I wanted to make something new for the front porch. But where as our time and budget are both limited this is what I came up with... ...a "new" wreath (made from an old wreath and some flowers I bought at the Dollar Store) and a new coat of paint for the front door. (The door had been white but I literally mixed up a whole bunch of left over paints in the garage to have enough to paint the door a new color which looks like this and miraculously matches the rest of our house.)Then ...
