Here is the last of the Christmas presents that I made this year. These two for some nieces on the other side of the family. It was kind of fun to make matching dresses for a change. The theme I had for these little dresses was a vintage prairie look (that totally makes no sense to you, I know, but in my mind it did). I wanted soft, muted colors and some fun prairie-style aprons on the fronts. I hope they liked them....Any fun sewing projects this week? Liz and I are currently taking an ... View the Post
Embroidery from Vintage Sewing Patterns
I have been wanting a little hand stitching project to do this year. One that I can throw in my purse (or Mary Poppins bag is more like it) that I can work on a little at a time while I am waiting at different places. And as you all well know....I love vintage patterns! Project Run and Play–Boy’s Week
We can't just NOT sew along for Project Run and Play! So this week, of course, I had boys on the brain. And this is a project I have been wanting to do for awhile. A little man romper for the cutest toddler in my life.I used what was the bodice pattern of a vintage pattern shirt (for a girl----shh!), took out the puffed sleeves, totally rebuilt the collar and worked with it until it came out like a little boy's 1950's shirt. My one regret is that I didn't make it quite long enough (he was ... View the Post
A Felt Pirate Hat Pattern
Our family is planning a little Disney trip here soon and we are going to be going to a pirate party. And since we are traveling I don't want to take costumes....so here is my easy solution. A fold up pirate hat, that won't take up hardly any room in the suitcases. Perfect. ... View the Post
