A couple of months ago, we were contacted about a new sewing book that was coming out and if we would like a preview copy. The book was so intriguing that we just had to say yes! The premise is so creative and it turned out to be such a fun little project. The book Sew Iconic by Liz Gregory is a book of sewing patterns based on 10 classic Hollywood film dresses. And you all know by now that we both love a good theme, so we were totally on board with recreating a classic movie dress. There were ... View the Post
The LA Fashion District–part II
Today I am sharing my pictures from LA. Yes, everything Liz told you is true....even the part about me holding onto the emergency exit door until the plane touched the ground. I am not a very good flyer in turbulence and the fact that we were landing in a CRAZY, ridiculous wind storm didn't help matters. But it was such a fun, whirlwind trip..... Here is the FIDM store....which is awesome! This is a must-do.This is The Loft which is part of Michael Levine. And this is what most of the fabric ... View the Post
An Updated Units Style Jumper
I warned you I'd be posting another Units project today... and I really like this one. A lot. Back in the day when I wore "Units" I had a particular favorite. An Updated Pillowcase Dress. A Tutorial.
A couple of weeks ago while shopping I came across a darling little jumper for a little girl at H&M. I almost bought it (it was around $10 or so) but then when taking a second look at it realized it was just an updated version of a pillowcase dress. So, I came home and made one. In 30 minutes. My kind of quick, naptime sewing project.I did take a few pictures along the way to make a quick tutorial. Here's how I did it....I was making a TALL size 6/7 and since I want her to be able to wear it ...
