I shared this tutorial a couple of weeks ago over at..... but today I am sharing it with you. There are two things right now that I am loving....bows and polka dots. So I combined my love of both to make a cute pocket on a back-to-school skirt for my brand new 2nd grader. The main fabric on the skirt is from Riley Blake's solids collection, Pepper and the bow pocket is Red dot from the Seaside Line. I am in LOVE with their stripes and polka dots.....they literally have dots in ... View the Post
A Halloween Wreath.
I think I have decided that some people are scary-Halloween people---and some aren't. We are in the aren'ts category. I took our youngest who is 2 into a display store last week to get some grid-wall pegs and he started freaking out over all the life-sized witches and crows and bubbling cauldrons that were EVERYWHERE. I ended up carrying him on my shoulder with his head buried in my neck and every time he would peek out he would say...."Let's get out of here." I have to admit...they were ... View the Post
Vintage-Inspired Doll Kits.
We are slowly unloading the bins from Swiss Days (it was pouring-down rain when we were taking down). And along with unloading comes unmixing up all the leftovers. Which, thankfully, aren't many. But because we don't want to store them in our storage another year.....you get to be the beneficiaries of some leftovers....aren't you thrilled? We made some vintage-inspired doll kits and there are a few left if any of you are interested. There are only extremely limited quantities of each left---so ... View the Post
A Project of Unusual Size…..

We have been on the phone joking with each other at the end of conversations that we are going back to our "sweatshops" aka sewing rooms to try and get stuff done. The projects have been fun, but ... Today we are over at Riley Blake sharing....But the thing is... the tutorial for the fabric portion was kind of, well, lengthy and I didn't want to hog up any more of their space. So....Go HERE for the tutorial...supplies...meaurements, etc. for the fabric portion.BUT, for the information on how to build the PVC stand just read below.Elizabeth and I have totally had fun building things out of PVC...like our summer camp chairs, Simon's target, and the PVC Water Mayhem just to name a few. How to Make Your Own Cabochons
I got obsessed with cabochons a year or two ago and bought a whole bunch off of etsy---and then discovered that you could make your own! I ordered the supplies over a year ago (the story of my life) but every afternoon I have been trying to come up with a project to do with the kids and found this one. Aaron wasn't too interested (and decided to do legos instead) but Hannah and I had fun. If you want to make your own cabochons you will need.... Both the Premo Sculpey and the Sculpey glaze I ...
