How to Make a Harry Potter Magic Wand Last year I got the awesome experience to, once again, teach several periods of Reading Enrichment at my middle school. I love teaching reading almost as much as I love teaching art....and this magic wand project let me combine both subjects! One of the books that we read together as a class was Harry Potter so after our daily fluency drills, comprehension work, and phonemic awareness practice we spent some time creating our own magic ... Halloween Writing Prompts
Halloween Writing Prompts My daughters have recently really gotten into writing and keep a writing journal where they have a new story prompt every day. But, for October we thought it would be fun to do something a little different. So when we found these Halloween journals at the Dollar Store we had to get them and fill them up with "spooky" writing prompts. Here is a list of the prompts that we came up with. There are are 31...one for every day in the month! #1. ... View the Post
On Halloweens past, present and future
Russell from Disney's Up Costume I have so many mixed feelings about Halloween this year. My kids are growing up (sniff, sniff) and it just isn't the same holiday as it used to be. So on a recent road trip we came up with a list of holiday related "Would You Rather" questions and decided to share ... View the Post

Christmas in July 2019 Week #2: The Nightmare Before Christmas Gift Eating Snake
Today I am so excited to share how I made this giant Nightmare Before Christmas Gift Eating Snake! I love this snake...but I can't take all the credit for making it. Infact, the idea to even make him came from my 14 year old son. I was saying how it's lame that we don't even have a tree skirt...just a blanket that we use to wrap around the tree stand. And then he said the blanket was better than a skirt...but it would be way cooler if we had the snake from The Nightmare ... View the Post
