When the lovely Shannon asked if we would take part in the Sally Dress Tour....I gladly said yes, because Shannon is one of the nicest bloggers we know. Seriously.....she is the best. And a beautiful sewist. And a great momma to her girlies. And a magnificent knitter. And just all around cool. But here's my problem. Remember the days years ago when I was complaining because this girlie would only wear dresses, or skirts? Well, you probably don't. But I do. As if it were yesterday. And ... View the Post
The Art of Homemaking: We need women…
Recently I've been thinking a lot about what kind of a role model I am for my girls. What I want them to see from me...and what kind of an example I am setting for them. Grace, especially, is old enough that she watches what I do, values what I value, and currently is my little shadow. When Elizabeth and I were making our Princess and the Pea projects I ran to the craft store to look for some felted wool balls...which I had never before purchased and had no idea where to find them. So while I was wandering from aisle to aisle I ran across packages of old fashioned wooden clothes pins and decided to buy a pack. Later that night Grace and I turned them into clothes pin people. We each painted our own. I started off with two casual girls for summer. And I finished with 3 ... View the Post
