I finished up this dress over the weekend and am quite happy with it. Maybe because it's green and I am longing for warmer weather, or because it's a different take on a vintage dress than I usually do (I am trying to branch out) but it was a quick and fun project to work on.The dress came from this vintage pattern below, although the pattern is a size 6 and my 6 year old needs about a size 2/3 in vintage patterns so I basically used it as inspiration and made up my own. Peter Pan Collar Tutorial
I have been dreaming about this project for a while and then, when I saw THIS I knew it was time to do something about it and make some removable peter pan collars for all sorts of outfits. First things first, I LOVE peter pan collars. Like some serious love. I think I have put them on about half of the girl's dresses I have ever made, and the other half---well, I certainly debated it. So, now we have some removable collars that can go on those dresses too! Wahoo! (Am I crazy? Ok, you ... View the Post
From Claus to Cupid—A $5 Friday Red Velvet Re-do

Here's what it looked like yesterday morning:And here's what it looks like now:It was the easiest ... View the Post

So, I went with orange and navy. A good combo for the boys and a girl....and thankfully I did get them done (allbeit, Christmas Eve morning....but they did get their buttons on!) This is the nightgown I made ... View the Post
Flour Sack Nightie
I love flour sacks. They feel clean and crisp and old all at the same time. And because I love them I am always trying to think of ways that I can use them. This is what I came up with recently...some new night gowns for my little girl. (She loves night gowns as much as I love flour sacks.) Here's what I did: I roughly traced the outline of a favorite nightgown onto some butcher paper. Then I got rid of the sleeves and added few inches over the shoulders to make straps that would button. ... View the Post
