Is this bow insane? Yes. Yes it is. But it wasn't my idea, it was all hers. I actually bought this scarf to be A SCARF with another one of Gracie's outfits...however...she thinks it's supposed to be a ginormous bow...so I just went with it. Working our way down, Gracie has on a white hand-me-down blouse from Hannah worn with a vest that I made from the same heavy knit I used in her Claim Jumper look. As for the skirt I made it from the same vintage polyester I used for Gracie's ... View the Post
The Bow-A-Constrictor Tutorial
I've been working on cleaning up and organizing the house...and trying to solve some storage issues. One of those issues is Grace...and all 8 million of her hair bows. We've been keeping them in a bin but she likes to look through them to pick out which one she wants and they usually end up in a pile on the floor. So in order to solve the problem I made this: The Bow-A-Constrictor: It was easy to make, it solves the problem, and I think it will be cute on the wall. In fact, I plan to make ... View the Post
Ruth’s Ruffled Bodice Tutorial
Last Friday I posted these dresses that I made for my girls. And then I had several emails about how I made the detail on the bodice of Ruth's dress. So today I'm going to share with you what I did. It was really easy and you can add this little ruffle piece to ANY bodice that have or like to use. To start with I cut 2 of the exact same bodice front pieces (the green polka dot fabric). ***Remember you can do this with any bodice of your choice from pretty much any pattern that you ... The answer was yes, yes, and yes. A few weeks later we got the most adorable little package in the mail and here's what it included: 3 pieces of fabric, some ... View the Post
Gracie’s Graffiti Jeans–A Tutorial
I am loving all the printed jeans I've seen lately...and I really wanted to make some for Grace. So this week when I was out and about I bought a really inexpensive pair of jeans and a bleach pen and went to work. There are several ideas that I wanted to try that involve bleach but I started with graffiti. Actually the idea was originally to make one of the leg panels look like the subway art that is everywhere but then I decided---it is everywhere---it doesn't need to be on Gracie's pants as ... A Back to School Peasant Dress.
It is still hot as blazes here....but we needed a new and quick back to school dress. So a 30 minute peasant dress and some Old Navy leggings did the job perfectly. I cut the dress a bit longer, shirred 4 or 5 rows to make it drop-waisted and added a ribbon on top and we were done!P.S. Liz and I are still recovering from our craft market-experience which went so well. We promise to tell you all about it soon.A huge thank you to all of you who came and introduced yourselves..... we get a ... View the Post
