You ever have one of those mornings where everything just goes wrong? Well, that was my morning yesterday...all the socks were still in the dryer...damp, Simon left his backpack home, Ruth leaked through 2 outfits before 9am, I ripped my pajama pants, Grace spilled a half gallon of milk all over the kitchen floor, and on and on until 10am when we went to take these photos of Grace in her new maxi dress. That's when I tipped over in the snow while trying to take her picture and the battery ... View the Post
A Handmade Christmas: Visions of Sugar Plums
I promised you the holiday version of the Morton Salt Girl dress today and here it is. The only thing I did differently was to lengthen the skirt to make it knee-length and add a ribbon sash. Otherwise, it is the exact same dress.Purple was the requested color, so I obliged with a dark purple (plum) taffeta and a light purple satin for the lining and ribbon sash around the middle. And even more lucky for me, the day we did the photo shoot she had just returned from a day of "hair, make-up and ... View the Post

A 60's mod dress with a ... View the Post
Ruth’s Ruffled Bodice Tutorial
Last Friday I posted these dresses that I made for my girls. And then I had several emails about how I made the detail on the bodice of Ruth's dress. So today I'm going to share with you what I did. It was really easy and you can add this little ruffle piece to ANY bodice that have or like to use. To start with I cut 2 of the exact same bodice front pieces (the green polka dot fabric). ***Remember you can do this with any bodice of your choice from pretty much any pattern that you ...
