Today we get to participate in No Big Dill's Sew all 26 letters series, and it has been so fun to see what everyone has been making. She has a couple of guest posters a week and then she is sewing all 26 letters of the alphabet. Did you see her P is for Paper Dress?.....wowza. It is gorgeous and really is made out of real paper. Katy really is a master of the sewing universe.... This week she is on V and what is better for V than VIOLET AND VINTAGE PATTERNS..... I started with this beauty ... View the Post
Perfectly Pink Shift Dress
I have been dreaming of Spring and shift dresses and my girlie has been dreaming of the "perfect pink" lately (she loves colors!) so we teamed up at the fabric store. She picked out a perfect pink cotton sateen and I picked out the perfect swiss dot for the top. I used our new bodice pattern (that really is coming out soon--we have been teasing you for too long) for the top and then a-line it out a bit at the bottom for the shift dress part. And we both love the result! (And the shoes for ... View the Post
I have been doing some sewing lately…….
Even though it doesn't look like it, I have been doing some garment sewing recently. I am in love with brocade this season (you are going to see ... View the Post
Scandinavian Style

(We live in the Rocky Mountains and are about as American as apple pie!!! What do we know about Scandinavian Style????) So what do two girls living in the Rocky ... View the Post
It’s Wednesday on a Monday…A Wednesday Addams Halloween Costume that is.
A few months ago I became obsessed with the idea that Grace would make a perfect Wednesday Addams for Halloween. But...I always let my kids choose what they want to be for Halloween (Remember the shrieking eel, plate of spaghetti, and elevator costumes?) so I decided that I would make the costume for my own entertainment and then just let her still be whatever she wanted. And so I started googling images of Wednesday Addams. Surprisingly I found that her dress changed over the years ... View the Post
A Goldilocks Costume for Ruth…Too Hot? Too Cold? Or Just Right?
Once upon a time I had a baby. Her name was Ruth and she had wild and wonderful untamed golden locks. So I decided that she must be Goldilocks for Halloween and I set off to make her a costume. But I wasn't sure what Goldilocks should look like...And this was the best costume I could come up with: And although I loved her in the dress and pinafore I made(and how could I not...just look at those knees poking out between her dress and socks...)I wasn't sure if she looked like Goldilocks from ...
