Another Vintage Pattern. And a dress.
This dress is made from a 1968 pattern. And wow, this bodice took me a long time. I kept making dumb mistakes and having to pick out whole seams....yikes. I was also loving this gingham in the store....but as I kept unpicking seams it got more and more "red ridingish" for me. I decided then to add some turquoise for contrast....but I don't know.....a good play dress I guess. What are you sewing this week? Or unpicking seams on? (That's my world sometimes.....) P.S. Spring Fever: It’s Time to Think about the Easter Dress
A few weeks ago my mom made this dress for Gracie. It is made from a pattern from the 1950's and I love the Shirley Templeness of it. Looking at Gracie in this helped me decide that this is the year that I am going to make her Easter dress. I can do this. I won't be afraid. I have several patterns, all from the 50's and 60's, that I think would be awesome. BUT, I can't decide on the pattern (full and frilly or plain and ... View the Post
Another Vintage Dress.

Anyway, I took this 1972 pattern: and made this dress..... with this cute yolk and sleeves. I used some apples and pears fabric from the calico wall at Joann's when they were 30% off a month or so ago. I was loving the look of this ... View the Post

An Orange Go-Go Dress
Recently my mom has been collecting vintage patterns and as I was looking through her pile I came across a 1965 pattern for this little dress and fell in love. A go-go dress is perfect for my little Grace! And when I saw this orange fabric in my fabric bin I knew it would be a match made in sewing heaven. The pattern called for a hook-and-eye closure at the top but I opted to put on this groovy vintage button instead. (Any time I can add a vintage button onto something I am a happy girl.) *Oh, ...
