I showed you a sneak peek last Friday....and lucklily I finished up the dress early in the weekend and Hannie and I did a fun photoshoot on Saturday afternoon. She was all for getting her hair done, some pink lip gloss and a 15 minute cold photoshoot (not her usual self). And she was a trooper! (I think the pink lip gloss helped her spirits a bit ;)The inspiration for this dress is a dress my mom wore in a wedding when she was in college (late 60's -- sorry mom for dating you ;) that my ... I’m late, I’m late. For a very important date.
Ok everyone. I am so late. I was out of town for a few days and wanted to get this up before I left. But there were some crazy make-it-work moments during the process of sewing this coat, and it just didn't happen. I did, however, finally finish it up this weekend and am ready to show you all my outerwear project from last week's Project Run & Play theme. So, I give you..... This coat is a pattern remix from a 1960's pattern (that I, of course, forgot to take a picture of--it's been ... View the Post
Some Dresses
Here is the last of the Christmas presents that I made this year. These two for some nieces on the other side of the family. It was kind of fun to make matching dresses for a change. Thrifted Thursday—-A White Eyelet Dress (with some modifications)
Months ago I bought Grace an old stained dress for $2 at at local thrift store. I brought it home, gave it a serious bleach bath, and hung it in the closet where it stayed until yesterday when I pulled it out and continued to freshen it up a bit. This is what we ended up with. Luckily the dress was darling to begin with so the changes I made were minor. I started by embroidering the word "Beloved" on her sleeve. Embroidering was easy (but that may be because I don't know what I'm doing). All ... View the Post

(We will be emailing you soon!)#2. We will be having another super giveaway for you all this Friday. #3. ... View the Post
Thrifted Thursday—An Orange Dreamsicle
Last time I went thrifting I ran across this little beauty. It was orange, polyester, and only $6. Done, done and done. And did I mention that it is just my size?It was destiny.Of course the wind happened to be blowing the day I took the pictures.Perhaps that was destiny to.(It kept us indoors where we got a lot of housework accomplished.) Am I really going to wear this perfectly preserved piece of history? You better believe it.Leave the jacket for another outfit, add in some tights, tall ... View the Post
