I literally squealed inside when I found this skirt below at the thrift store. It was love at first hanger-pull, because I have been on the lookout for a pleated 80's rayon goodness skirt for a while now.At first I wanted the skirt all.to.myself. (Ok. Being honest, I still do.) I envisioned cutting off the top....cinching it in a bit and making a knee-length nautical skirt for me. But when I brought her home and realized that the pleated part would be well above my knees (darn) I decided it ... View the Post
A Green Vintage Dress
I finished up this dress over the weekend and am quite happy with it. Maybe because it's green and I am longing for warmer weather, or because it's a different take on a vintage dress than I usually do (I am trying to branch out) but it was a quick and fun project to work on.The dress came from this vintage pattern below, although the pattern is a size 6 and my 6 year old needs about a size 2/3 in vintage patterns so I basically used it as inspiration and made up my own. I pretty much stayed ... View the Post

From Claus to Cupid—A $5 Friday Red Velvet Re-do
Sometime last summer my mom found this little red Christmas dress for Grace. I brought it home, hung it in her closet and then forgot about it until about a week ago when I was going through her clothes. (Nice.)Now Christmas is over and there's no way the dress will still fit her next December but I still want her to get some wear out of it before she grows out of it. So I came up with a plan. Here's what it looked like yesterday morning:And here's what it looks like now:It was the easiest ... View the Post
