One Spring during my college years I lived in Portugal and we had the most glorious lemon tree out our front door.  Our hosts told us we could pick as many as we would like...and little did they know, we girls could drink a lot of freshly made lemonade.  I didn't know about simple syrup back them so we just used straight sugar...and we would always have a ring of sugar around the bottom of our glasses, but by golly those were the best glasses of lemonade I have ever had.  It was so hot outside ...
