I am a bit over this week, but I think it's well worth it.I am not a fan of tiny wreaths on doors. I think they look silly. Maybe some people feel the same way about my wreaths but I just like the look better of a wreath that actually fills the door frame. Isn't that what they are supposed to do? (Maybe I am the crazy one....I'll take it if I am)BUT, if you are like me and like a wreath that fills the door, here is a fall wreath suggestion that cost me around $9 (I had one grapevine ... $5 Friday….except it’s a $1.00 Friday for me!
My five-year-old is a dress girl. And that means everyday. I made her wear jeans today because #1 it was PE day and #2 because it was cold and wet and icky this morning. You would have thought that I put her in a torture chamber. Tears, tears, and more tears. So, I think we are back to skirts and dresses. And since she wears them EVERYDAY I am in need of some shorts to wear under skirts. She will wear leggings (thank heavens) but I needed some shorts to wear with cute knee socks and leg ... $5 Friday…Halloween Apothecary Jars
Today I'm posting one of my favorite (and cheapest) Halloween decorations---My Halloween Apothecary Jars. I have quite a collection of these fun little glass jars that I've gathered from various thrift stores over the years. (None of them have cost more than $1.) And while I think that their original purpose is for housing candy I only use them for Halloween. So, I bought the jars and then attached some scrap book stickers that I already had to the front. (Most of them say things like "magical", ... View the Post
There is a $5 Friday after all…..
This is the other Liz. And while Liz is running a marathon tomorrow (she is superwoman) I have been cleaning out closets, and took a big load to DI today. And, of course, while I was at DI I just HAD to go in and take a look around. And this is what I found....for $4.00. 3 vintage patterns for 50 cents each. 2 vintage teacups for 1.00 dollar each 1 piece of vintage fabric for 50 cents. (My favorite score. And I love that it is tiny George Washingtons with tiny axes, cherries and cherry ... View the Post
$5 Friday…Quick Birthday Decorations
Tonight we are having a family birthday party for my little boy so I'm spending the day cooking and cleaning up a storm. However, I'm going to take a quick 5 minute break to post some super fun decorations I just started hanging up.I saw these decorations this morning on an awesome website called "creativejewishmom.com". (You should go check out her site..she's amazing.) Each decoration only takes 8 sheets of paper and just a few minutes to make. I whipped these up while my kids were eating ... View the Post
$5 Friday…Thrift Store Decor
The next big project at my house will be decorating my soon to be 6 year old's bedroom. He wants it to look like an "inventor room".At the local thrift store I found some inspiration---A Handy Andy Tool Kit (25 cents) and A How-To Book ($2.00). (Inspiration/ideas can come from all different places but I never fail to come away fed from 2 places---thrift stores and Disneyland. But, since it's $5 Friday I'll just stick to talking about my thrift store finds.)I'll use the wicked cool color scheme ... View the Post
