The other day I discovered that the Dollar Store now sells pillowcases. And after watching Fantastic Mr. Fox (one of my favorites) I felt like whipping some foxy pillowcases for our weekly Friday Night Family Camp Out.So $1 pillowcases plus fabric from the scrap bin equals this week's $5 Friday project.PS...About the quality of the pillowcases...not the highest...they will work for laying around on the floor in a pile of blankets and eating popcorn..but maybe not for the guest bedroom...just so ... $5 Friday–Ruffle Tights
We are gone tomorrow so I am posting a day early.... I made these "Ruffle Tights" using some tights I already had for Hannie, cutting off the toes and then pushing the open legs on to the arm of the sewing machine. While the tights are stretched around the arm they are smooth and it is a lot easier to sew the lace straight on. Then, when you pull them off the machine, they bunch back up and are magically ruffled. An experiment that worked very well. I then started sewing different pieces ... View the Post
$5 Friday—A Valentine Skirt
I have been wanting to make a t-shirt ruffle skirt for awhile and decided today was the day. And here she is....a free valentine skirt. ... View the Post
$5 Friday (A Tuesday Edition)

I was going to make some, but just never got around to it. So, while perusing Walmart (which I have a serious love/hate relationship with---but it's mega close and convenient--so I go there) I came across a pack of 6 terrycloth bibs for $5. So, I grabbed them. And then last Thursday I decided ... View the Post
$5 Friday…Couch Pillow Cover Conversion
Awhile ago I picked up a bunch of these pillow covers at the Dollar Store. I had this great idea to turn them into tote bags until.... ...not less than a month later I saw on another blog where a super awesome seamstress turned some covers into tote bags. They were really cute...way cuter than my idea...I was sad. So into the basement they went until yesterday. I felt like sewing something but didn't have a lot of time to invest in a project. As I dug around the craft room I came across ... View the Post

A while back I posted a photo of a flower attached to a broach that I put together for a dress. This is the dress.I got it for $4 at a thrift store. Then I paired it with a cardigan from many days gone by, a belt from another dress, some black tights and viola! I had a new dress to wear for the holidays. And it only cost $4!That's awesome even of this photo of me wearing it isn't.-z ... View the Post
