Ok, ok, in my brain this was going to be a darlingly cute skirt. Reality---not so much. But the pictures made me laugh hysterically today. You see this inspiration (it's no longer there but that is where I got the image from) that I found and pinned and thought was so cute. As a side note, I love to look at Japanese children's clothing...there are some cute things. A giant bow on a skirt. Darling. (This was pinned long before I saw giant bows on everyone's skirts that turned out much cuter ... View the Post
$5 Friday—Baby Bird Earrings
The other day at Hobby Lobby I saw these teeny tiny little birds. And I loved them. And I bought them (for $2.99).There were 6 of them on the card...I used two of them for these earrings. (I just glued a flower and a bird to plain round earring posts. It took about 2 minutes.)I'm saving the other 4. I don't know what they will be for yet but they are so cute and little they are bound to come in handy sometime soon right? (I'm such a nerd for tiny things like this.....) ... View the Post
$5 Friday…Fun Activites for Our Boys of Summer
This summer we are short on funds (it seems we are always short on funds...but who isn't?). However, I really wanted to make sure that we had a super fun summer. So the day after school ended Simon (my little guy) and I sat down and made a 3 page list of ideas that sounded fun and cost next to nothing. Since then we've been busy crossing activities off of that list. Here are a few of the favorites thus far: #1. Jedi Bubble Training: Cost: $1 for the bubble wand (we already had the light ... $5 Friday…A Fun Father’s Day Idea…Cereal Specimen Chart Tutorial
A Fun Father's Day Idea: A Cereal Specimen Chart If there is one thing in this world my husband loves (besides me and the kids of course) it's cereal. The man REALLY loves his cereal. In fact, he would be happy eating cereal for all 3 meals everyday for the rest of his life. Seriously. So awhile ago when I saw a menu with actual pieces of cereal glued onto it I started thinking how I could adapt that into something funny for my husband. This is what I came up with: "The Cereal Specimen ... View the Post
$5 Friday. A T-shirt Dress.
Every year I am on the hunt for cute white t-shirts with a cute detail of some sort. Well, last year I found some really cute ones at Target, and this year I found these cute white tees at Walmart for exactly $5. So I picked up a couple. I think the ruffle detail at the collar is darling, and makes them look more expensive. The rest of the fabric was from my stash. The bow is actually a pin to take it off the dress before washing. I dislike crazy-washed bows....hence the pin.I have had ... View the Post
$5 Friday…Union Jack Jammies
Since today is the day that the whole world has gone UK crazy I decided I may as well jump on the band wagon with my Baby Union Jack Pajamas. I bought the thermal top and bottom at Dollar Tree for $1 a piece. Then used some scrap flannel and ribbon for the flag. It took of all of about 10 minutes to make. Fast, easy and under $5. Now that's what I call a jolly good project. And speaking of jolly good---in honor of all the lovely Brittish festivities I'm off to eat me some fish and ... View the Post
