As our home renovation project of doom is coming (hopefully) to a close I have been thinking about what I've learned from this whole experience. When we moved into our new-to-us home two months ago with only our three kids, a few bags full of basic necessities, and a plan...leaving all other worldly possessions in storage...we thought we knew what we were doing. Boy were we wrong. However, I think we have gotten a lot accomplished in those two months...in that time we have repainted ... View the Post
The Art of Homemaking: On Letting them Help
My girls always want to "help". Help with dinner. Help with dishes. Help with housework. Help with washing the dog. Help with everything. But usually the "help" of an 8 and a 4 year old is actually just more work for me. Actually I don't really like him at all. (He's so whiny and indecisive...much like a totally unrelated main character...Luke Skywalker...but that's another story.) So who is my favorite character?
