That's right....this is the Keep Your Pants Dry Picnic Quilt Tutorial. Today we get to take part in our friend Melissa's Summer Sewing Series over at The Polka Dot Chair. And so today I decided to make something to eliminate one of my summer pet peeves. If you are like me and you go to the park, the splash pad, the backyard...or anywhere really...and spread out your blanket, somehow you have found the only damp place on all the lawn to set up camp. It could be 237 degrees outside ... View the Post
What I Learned From My Home Renovation
As our home renovation project of doom is coming (hopefully) to a close I have been thinking about what I've learned from this whole experience. When we moved into our new-to-us home two months ago with only our three kids, a few bags full of basic necessities, and a plan...leaving all other worldly possessions in storage...we thought we knew what we were doing. Last month I was sitting in a meeting when the lady across the table said that it might sound crazy but that I remind her of Charlotte from Charlotte's Web. I told her it didn't sound crazy but was one of the kindest compliments that I could have received. Especially on that particular day. Later, as I was leaving the meeting she asked what the necklace that I always wear around my neck says. Funny you should ask I said....it says Araneae...which is the scientific name for spiders. ...
